June Sprouting Project Dinner: Tomato
Saturday, June 06, 2020
06:00 PM - 08:00 PM
The Sprouting Project
39 Beach Lagoon Rd, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034, USA
Heirloom tomatoes create memories. Unlike commercial hybrid tomatoes, which are engineered for durability, uniform color and shape at the expense of taste, heirlooms are grown from seeds that are pollinated naturally and handed down year to year. With fresh heirlooms harvested from our local Trader Hill Farm and The Sprouting Project, this dinner will focus on tomatoes variety and richness of flavor. This tomato themed Sprouting Project dinner will take guests back to a time when tomatoes were only eaten a few months of the year, were rarely perfectly round or red, and tasted of summer itself.
Guests will enjoy an intimate southern-inspired true farm-to-table dinner at The Sprouting Project, our culinary team’s answer to hyper-local sustainability. The dinner includes a tour of the resort's state-of-the-art aquaponic greenhouse, expansive organic garden and large collection of beehives while enjoying passed bites and harvest inspired cocktails, all before a five-course chef inspired dinner that incorporates items gathered directly from The Sprouting Project. This monthly event will showcase both the creativity and culture of our chefs in a lush, outdoor setting.
June theme: Tomato
The evening kicks off with cocktails and light bites at 6:00 p.m. followed by a five-course dinner at 7:00 p.m. Seating is limited.
